Flash Player on Appspace Player

Introduction

This guide details the steps to configure the Appspace Player to run the Flash presentation engine instead of the default DirectX engine.

Setting Flash Player on Appspace Player

  1. Run the installer as the local Windows administrator (right-click on the installer file to select the Run as administrator option). Select Run to begin the installation.

  2. Once the installation is complete, the Appspace Player shortcut icon will appear on the desktop. Double-click the shortcut icon to start the player.

  3. Once the player has started, the Appspace Player icon will appear in the Windows taskbar. Right-click the icon and select Setup.

  4. Select either On-Premise or Nexus On Demand and enter the URL of the on-premise server, in this example: http://onprem.server.website.com or if SSL is used https://onprem.server.website.com. Input your Appspace ON-PREMISE account username and password then click Next to proceed.

    Note

    An on-premise server was used in this example.


  5. Enter a name in the Player Name field to be used to identify the PC player and click Next to proceed.


  6. If the PC player is ready to be deployed into a production environment, check the box next to Launch player on PC restart. This ensures the application will always be launched/started even after a system reboot. Check the box next to Select application to sync with and click Next to proceed.


  7. Click Next on the Select Application page to start the configuration process.


  8. Select the application (list is populated with existing applications within the Appspace account) to assign to the player and click Next to proceed.


  9. The selected application will be synced to the player with the progress bar depicting the progression and click Sync in background to hide the window (optional).


  10. When the application sync has completed, check the box next to Launch player after wizard completes to start the player after setup finishes. Otherwise, leave the box unchecked to return to the Windows desktop after setup finishes. Click Finish to complete the Appspace Player setup wizard.

    Note

    The screen may be blank as it will take some time for the Appspace Player to complete its first content sync. The duration will depend on the size of the application and the allocated network bandwidth.


  11. Right click on the Appspace Player icon in the Notification area and select the Status option.

  12. Click on the Settings tab on the Appspace Player control panel and select either Flash – IE or Flash – Chrome option from the Presentation Engine dropdown. Click Save to commit changes.

  13. Next go to Control Panel for Windows and select Flash Player (32bit).


  14. Click the Advanced tab. and then click on the Trusted Location Settings under the Developer Tools section.

  15. Click Add to add a location to the list of trusted location.

  16. Click Add Folder and select the FastNetV2 folder on the installed directory in this case its C drive and click confirm to save.
