Getting Started with Play


Follow these quick steps to get started with setting up the Play extension and creating a Play channel.

Before you begin, please read the Introduction to Play and the Play Client Requirements and Limitations articles.

Setting Up Play

Once you have the required platform, browsers, devices, and user access, follow the instructions below to setup Play:

  1. Add desired on-demand content such as images or videos to the Appspace Library. Please refer to the Managing Content article.

  2. In the Play Configuration page, add and configure your preferred Electronic Programming Guide (EPG) provider settings. Please refer to the Adding EPG Providers section.

  3. Add your preferred live stream channels. You may add channels with or without EPG Provider settings. Please refer to the Adding Channels section.

  4. Set a preferred theme for your Web Client or TV. Please refer to the Managing Themes article.

  5. Configure a remote control profile; use the default remote controls or upload a customized profile. Please refer to the Managing Remote Control Profiles article.

  6. Create a Space, allocate your own collection of on-demand content and channels, and assign users to the Space. Please refer to the Creating Spaces section.

  7. Configure, register, and assign devices to your Space. Please refer to the Managing Devices article.

  8. View the contents in your Space on your device or browser:

    • Web Client - Browsers:
      • http://play.appspace.com
      • https://play.appspace.com

    • Appspace App-driven devices, and Edge 340 media players:
      • You will now be able to view the assigned Space on your device.

  9. You may share content from your Space. Refer to the Sharing Content article.
