New Features and Enhancements
General
Support for transparent content updates in a sign, allowing the App to sync changes from the server without reloading the App and interrupting current playback, for the following conditions:
Content changes made on the following widgets that are currently on screen.
- Remote Control
- Weather
- Event Calendar
- RSS Viewer
- RSS Ticker
- Text Ticker
- Table Listing
- Media Container
Linking media zones (add or remove linked media zones).
Changing media zone schedules.
Changing content properties such as schedule, tagging, or aspect ratio.
Changing player properties.
Limitation: If changes are made to the widget properties as below, the app reloads with the loading icon displayed:
- widget properties are added or removed from the same or different layout.
- widget properties are edited to change font type or color.
Improved UI in the Channel Info window:
- when content is selected on touch based devices, the content thumbnails do not move.
- when content is selected via a remote control, the content thumbnail moves due to pagination.
The EPG channel preview display size has been changed to 16:9 to improve visualization.
Interactive mode hotspot size has been increased to improve usability.
Event start dates on the Calendar widget are displayed correctly.
Resolved Escalations
- AE-3236 - The “AND” query statement in the Table Listing widget is ignored on BrightSign players.
- AE-3267 - Plain text does not load and display on a Chromebox device on startup.
- AE-3268 - The Media Container widget selects the first content in the second page, while content on the first page is not selected.
