This section applies only to v3.1.0 and higher.
For authorization purposes inside the stories section, the application establishes three roles according to business needs:
- Editors are distinguished as the internal communications managers. They are able to manage categories and channels, and also add/remove users as editors and/or writers.
- Writers are set up by an editor for each channel. They are able to write and edit stories.
- Guest Authors (since version 4.2.0) are platform users that are invited by an Editor or a Writer and added only on a specific story. They can publish and edit the content of a specific story. But they cannot create them. They will be able to access the Story edit mode via notification or mail.
- Readers are all application users, being able to see these story related views:
- Stories landing page for stories browsing purposes.
- Channel view that will only show stories related to the channel.
- Story detail pages.
For more info regarding managing, writing, browsing and interacting with stories see related articles in this section.
When Using Local Entities
Editors and Writers can only be selected and allowed to operate within their Entity scope:
- Editors can only select other Editors, Writers, and Channels that belong to their own Local Entity.
- Writers are only able to select Channels assigned by their Editors within their Local Entity.
Please Note: Published Stories within a Local Entity are still available to users of other Local Entities, and if they voluntarily choose to follow its respective Channel.
