Using Advanced Tasks

The advanced tasks service extends the current Appspace device management framework to allow for device tasks to be created and scheduled by administrators. A device task represents a specific action to be performed on the device and the resulting response from executing the task.

Deploying an Advanced Task

  1. Click the Advanced Tasks tab, and click the Add button.

  2. Select the desired task template from the list, and click the Select button.

  3. In the Deploy To section, Click the Add button and proceed to select the network, player group, or devices the task will be deployed to. Click Select to confirm.

  4. In the Schedule section, select when the task will be deployed.

    Note

A task can only be deployed to a device that has been assigned to a channel. Whenever a selection is made, the item is added to the table of deployment locations, and more than one location can be chosen.

  5. Click Save.

  6. The response is displayed once the device returns the response to the Appspace server.

  7. Click the Response of the deployed task to display the task output.

Deleting a Deployed Task

  1. Click the Advanced Task tab, and select the desired Advanced Task to delete.
  2. Click the Delete button, and click OK to confirm deletion.
