The Webex Recordings card is built using the new Appspace integration with third-party systems that leverages standard technologies to create long-lived, authenticated, and secure connections. The Webex Recordings card allows users with a Cisco Webex account to access and display a recording of their Cisco Webex Meeting (such as conference calls or town hall meetings), ideal for keeping the workforce, in the office or working remotely, well informed.

An initial connection must be established between Appspace and a Cisco Webex service account, which is then stored in a virtual passport in Appspace and can be used until the service account revokes or cancels the integration. The passport will allow the card to establish a connection with the third-party system at runtime.

Only one recording can be displayed in the card at any one time. The recording will be streamed directly from the Webex site. The card or device will not store the content locally.

This article provides instructions to create, configure, and customize the Webex Recording card.


Due to a known CSS issues when using IE browsers, we recommend using Chrome to configure the Webex Recordings card.
We are currently working on a patch to fix these CSS issues, and would be releasing it as soon as possible.

Authenticate Webex Meetings Account

Follow the instructions to authenticate a Webex Meeting service account with Appspace.

Appspace Account Owner permissions are required.
  1. Log in to the Appspace console.
  2. Select the ☰ Appspace menu, and then click Admin > Passports.
  3. Click +ADD, and select the Webex Meeting passport.
  4. In the Account Settings tab, click CONNECT ACCOUNT and grant the passport permissions to access the Webex Meeting account. You may need to sign in with your Webex Meeting credentials if you’re currently not signed in.
  5. Once complete, continue to configure the Account Settings tab.
  6. In the Account Settings tab, you can perform the following actions:

    • Change the name of the Webex Meeting passport, by entering a different name in the Name field.
    • View the Account ID of the Webex Meeting passport.
    • View the App Permissions granted to the Webex Meeting passport.
    • View and refresh the Status of the Webex Meeting passport.
    • Remove the Webex Meeting passport, by clicking the Remove Account button.
  7. In the Permissions tab, you may grant the following users or user groups permissions to view or edit the passport.

    • Enter and select the users or user groups from the drop-down list, and select the permissions to grant from the Select permissions drop-down menu.
    • You may also view and remove the users or user groups that have already been granted permissions.
  8. You may proceed to the Create and Configure Webex Recordings Card section below.

Create and Configure Webex Recordings Card

The instructions below allow you to display a Webex recording.

  1. Log in to the Appspace console.
  2. To create this card, select one of the following options:
    • Click +QUICK ACTION from the Appspace menu bar on the top right, and select Create Content.
    • Click Library from the ☰ Appspace menu, and select a library or folder you wish to create the content in. Click +CREATE, and select Content.
    • To create and add the card directly to an existing channel, refer to Add Content to Playlist Channels.
  3. Select Feeds from the All Templates drop-down menu, and select the Webex Recordings card. 

    If you are unable to locate the content, try using either the Search bar, the Order by, or Filter icon to narrow down the content that you are looking for.
  4. In the Edit tab:

    • Enter the Title of the content as this will also act as the filename for the content. This is a mandatory field.
    • Select the Webex Meeting passport created earlier, and search for the Webex Meeting you wish to display.
      Alternatively, click the Browse Files button to display all the Webex recordings available to you, which you can select from. Only a single recording can be selected and streamed at a time.

      The Webex Passport will be automatically selected if there is only one Webex Meeting passport created in your Appspace account. If multiple Webex Meeting passports have been created, you will be given an option to select the desired Webex Passport.
      When browsing or searching for Webex Meeting recordings, you may enter a keyword in the search bar, or sort the recordings either by date or name.
    • Select the Webex recording display ratio:
      • Fit
      • Fill
      • Stretch
  5. In the Article tab:
    • Include an Article or Caption to accompany the content item when being displayed on mobile apps, tablets, and other social collaboration apps.
    • Enter a Referral Link to link more information to the content.
  6. In the Schedule tab:
  7. In the Settings tab:
    • The Name field will be auto-populated to match the Title of the content which will also act as the filename for the content. This is a mandatory field.
    • Enter any relevant Tags for the content. (Optional)
    • Select a folder for the content in the Library Location drop-down menu to change the default folder location.
    • Select an expiry date for the content from the Auto Delete Content from Library drop-down menu. (Optional)
    • Upload an image to be used as the Thumbnail for the content.
  8. Once done, click SAVE.

Edit Webex Recordings Card

The instructions below show you how to edit a Webex Recordings card.

  1. Log in to the Appspace console.
  2. Click Library from the ☰ Appspace menu, and select a library or folder containing the content you wish to edit.
  3. Select and click the Webex Recording card to edit, and select the desired tab to edit or view.
    • In the Edit, Article, and Settings tabs:
      • You may edit the content the same way as it was configured. For detailed instructions on how to do this, please refer to the Create and Configure section above.
    • In the Preview tab:
      • Preview how the content is displayed on your device.
    • In the Channels tab:
    • In the Analytics tab:
      • View the individual content analytics in this tab. For more information, please refer to the Individual Content Analytics section of the Analytics article.
  4. Once done, click SAVE.
