This article lists all necessary hardware and software requirements required to install, configure, and access your Appspace 8.0 on-prem instance.

Use this information to ensure you are always working with an Appspace supported and optimized system for hardware, operating system, network, and browsers.

These requirements are estimated guidelines only. Exact specifications may vary based on your deployment type, system configuration, applications installed, and business requirements. Your system administrator must ensure the hardware specifications are able to meet your content needs and can sufficiently scale as required. If your computer has less than the minimum requirements, you will not be able to install Appspace correctly.
Check out the On-Prem Upgrade Paths & End-Of Support Dates for your current on-prem deployment prior to upgrading.

Hardware Specifications

The table below lists the minimum and recommended system requirements, necessary to run an efficient Appspace on-prem server.

FeatureMinimum SpecificationsRecommended Specifications
Processor8 Core Processor or equivalent16 Core Processor or equivalent
Memory24 GB RAM32 GB RAM
Storage2 TB2 TB SSD
Network10+ Mbps1 Gbps
  • 64-bit OS versions are required.
  • Storage requirements may vary depending on your content requirements.
  • Virtualization is supported on VMware, provided the virtualized environment is configured to match the recommended specifications listed above.
  • If local hard drives are used, we recommend a RAID configuration for its performance and redundancy benefits.
  • Remote storage drives such as SAN and NAS are not supported.

Software Requirements

The table below lists the prerequisite software necessary to host Appspace on an on-prem server. You may choose either one of the database options listed.

Operating SystemMicrosoft Windows Server 2019 x64 (Standard or Datacenter Editions)
.NET FrameworkMicrosoft .NET Framework 4.6.2
Web ServerIIS 10 for Windows Server
Database Option 1Minimum
MySQL 8.0.26 with MySQL Workbench 8.0.26 (Selected during installation of MySQL)
MySQL 8.0.28 with MySQL Workbench 8.0.28 (Selected during installation of MySQL)
Database Option 2Minimum
Microsoft SQL Server 2019 (MS SQL) with MS SQL Server Management Studio
Microsoft SQL Server 2022 (MS SQL) with MS SQL Server Management Studio
Appspace requires a dedicated database for its on-prem server. Using a shared database is not officially supported, and will impact performance on the server.

Licensing Requirements

Appspace 8.0 on-prem servers are required to be licensed via the Account Management Portal, which consolidates subscription and perpetual license management.

With the introduction of the new licensing framework, the Appspace 8.0 on-prem server can only be activated under the following requirements:

If upgrading to Appspace 8.0 on-prem from previous versions, please ensure that you have switched or renewed your server license to One-Step Licensing before upgrading to ensure a smooth licensing transition. Instructions to switch licensing can be found here.
Please disable the FIPS-compliant algorithms on your Windows Server, prior to licensing your Appspace 8.x On-prem deployment, in order to prevent licensing issues.

Network Requirements

Please ensure your local network that hosts the Appspace on-prem server is configured as per the requirements listed below to ensure a seamless and secure content delivery.

Configure your network, firewall, or proxy servers to allow access to the sites and ports listed below to ensure all registered devices and users on an Appspace on-prem server have uninterrupted access to Appspace Cloud, necessary for licensing, content, and system updates.

Approved URLs List

Configure your network, firewall, or proxy servers to allow access to the following sites:
