Resolved Escalations

  • AE-2811 - Items from a playlist are not displayed in the correct sequence after a player reboot.

Known Issues

General

  • Audio in channels does not play for the full duration in a playlist.
  • Player status shows ‘Out of Sync’ when Alerts is broadcasted, and returns to ‘In Sync’ when Alerts is deactivated.

BrightSign

  • Series 2

    • Incorrect CPU usage is shown in Device Info.
    • The account registration URL from the policy.json file is still shown, even after unregistering the device.

  • Series 3

    • Unable to turn the screen on/off using a RS232 remote control because RS232 is not supported by the Series 3 BrightSign devices. We will develop an ADM Task to support this feature in the future.
    • Appspace App doesn’t proceed to play next content after the playback of OGG audio file.
    • A flicker is seen when switching to Device Menu.
    • User is redirected to the Welcome Screen when a timeout is encountered during manual registration.
    • For BrightSign XD players, the recommended constant bit rate (CBR) is 25 Mbps maximum. If you are using the video as part of a larger presentation area (with other zones decoding images, audio, or a second video), the CBR should be significantly less than 25 Mbps. If your video content is encoded using a variable bit rate (VBR), an average bit rate of 25Mbps may include peaks at up to 40 Mbps. The video may experience performance issues at these peaks (i.e. flickers), so it is recommended to use an average bit rate that is significantly lesser than 25 Mbps.
    • For BrightSign XT players, the recommended CBR is between 30 and 40 Mbps.
    • Intermittent overlapping of video content in playlist is seen on the next and following content, after the first video in the playlist is played.
    • Previous content in landscape mode is not unloaded when switching app from landscape resolution to portrait resolution. This only happens with videos.

ChromeOS

  • A black screen is displayed when playing unsupported video formats on an AOPEN chromebox device.
  • When the network goes offline, placeholders for Facebook and RSS cards are displayed for about 15 minutes, and then a blank media zone is displayed. Cards streamed from an external URL should be skipped when the network is down.

MediaVue

  • Appspace App user interface on the registration page is not responsive when displayed on a 3x2 video wall (5760x3840).
  • Unable to register device via the SureVue web configuration interface. Device registration must be done via the Appspace App.
  • Display rotation is not supported in this Appspace App version. Display orientation must be manually configured via the SureVue web configuration interface.
  • Audio output is not enabled on SureVue devices by default.
  • CPU usage information does not display on the Device Info screen.
  • Appspace App does not support the Asus remote control on SureVue devices.
  • Custom fonts have to be installed on the device via the SureVue web configuration interface before using the ADM task.
  • A black screen is displayed when playing unsupported video formats.
  • When the network goes offline, placeholders for Facebook and RSS cards are displayed for about 15 minutes, and then a blank media zone is displayed. Cards streamed from an external URL should be skipped when the network is down.
