Registering a Cisco Edge 300 media player
This article provides instructions to register Cisco Edge 300 devices to Cloud and On-Premises Appspace deployments, using the following two options:
The Edge 300 device must be running at minimum, firmware version 1.5.
The workstation running the wizard must have Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5 installed.
The Appspace on-premises server should have sufficient client access licenses (CALs)/Appspace IDs to register the desired quantity of devices.
Ensure the following network port requirements are met:

Registering Edge 300 with Online Registration Tool
The Online Registration Tool does not work on Chrome and Firefox web browsers, as the NPAPI plugins that are required by the tool to communicate with the devices on the local network are disabled by default on these browsers. Please use Internet Explorer 11 instead.
Follow the instructions below to register Edge 340 with the Online Registration Tool:
Navigate to Devices from the Appspace menu, and select the Advanced tab. Click the Click here for advanced device registration options link to register a new device.
Select Cisco Edge from the device drop-down menu, and click OK.
Select Online Registration.
Enter in the Device IP, Content delivery method, and Device Credentials. Once complete, click Scan Devices to begin the device search.
An IP range may be used for the Device IP field to find multiple devices.
All the Edge 300 devices found within the defined IP range are displayed. Select the check box of the devices you wish to register, and click Register Device. This process will take a few minutes depending on the number of devices selected.
Once the registration process is complete, the device’s status will change to Complete.
Registering Edge 300 with Edge Wizard
Follow the instructions below to register Edge 300 with the Edge Wizard:
Navigate to System > Downloads from the Appspace menu, and download the Appspace Edge 300 Wizard

Once the installation has completed, an Appspace Edge 300 Wizard shortcut icon will be placed on the desktop. Double-click the shortcut icon to run the wizard.
In the Start page, click Register.
In the Appspace Settings page, input the URL and credentials as per your Appspace deployment type, and click Next:

Cloud - The Appspace URL is the device registration link from the Downloads page.
When authenticating via Active Directory (single/multiple domain) the Username must be in the format of: short domain name Username
In the Device Settings page, input the device details and click REGISTER.
Selecting the No for Use Local Storage option will force the wizard to use an external USB drive as the main content storage (replacing the local storage). You will have to use the USB port on the right side of the device and ensure the USB drive is formatted in ext3.
The wizard will proceed to register the device and the registration progress will be displayed.
Once registration has completed, a confirmation message is displayed.
