Configure meeting room scheduling for Crestron Touch Panels (TSS)

The Crestron touch panel devices are integrated with the Appspace App and HTML5-based room scheduling cards, to provide you an ideal meeting room booking solution, with a simple way to view room availability, book instant meetings, extend a meeting that is in-progress, or schedule a future meeting.

This article provides instructions to configure and register Crestron TSS devices with Appspace App,



The Appspace App for Crestron TSS is only designed and tested for playlist channels and room scheduling cards; thus we do not support advanced channels, live stream channels, videos, alerts, device tasks, or playout metrics.

  • Create a Room Schedule card with one of the following calendar providers:


    When adding the room schedule card to a playlist, please set Content Duration to 8 minutes for optimum results.

  • An active Appspace account, with sufficient Device IDs to register the device.

  • An active Internet connection.

  • Ensure your network/firewall/anti-virus software on your computer is configured to allow access to the following:

    • Google Chrome web browser
    • Network port 80 (HTTP)
    • Network port 443 (HTTPS)

  • The device must meet the manufacturer’s minimum hardware and technical specifications. The models we currently support are the TSS-7 and TSS-10. Please refer to Supported operating systems and devices.


Currently, the Appspace App for Crestron TSS comes preinstalled on the device.

Best Practices

  • Recommended image options:

    • We recommend that clients use JPEGs as the primary image type. JPEGs are smaller in size (better compression) and ideal for the streaming nature of the device.
    • Recommended image size is 1280x800.
    • Avoid using larger image sizes.

  • Fade transitions should be used instead of transitions that have a lot of motion.

  • A constant internet connection to Appspace Cloud is required for optimum results.

  • You must wait at least one hour after registering the device before you remove the power, or the registration is lost because the TSS only writes once every hour to its internal memory.

Configure Crestron TSS

Follow the instructions below to enable Appspace App on the Crestron TSS device:

  1. Enter in the Crestron device IP address in your web browser to access the Crestron web console.

  2. Click Sign in and enter in the Crestron device credentials.

  3. Click the Settings tab, and navigate to the Applications section. Select Appspace from the Application Mode drop-down menu.

  4. Click Save Changes.

  5. Once successfully connected, the Appspace App device registration page is displayed.


    Currently, the Appspace App for Crestron TSS comes preinstalled on the device.

    1. Follow the instructions, from Step 2 onwards, in the Register a device article.

    2. In the Register a New Device window, type in the 6-character registration code, enter the device name, and select a network.

    3. Assign the playlist channel containing the Room Schedule card in the Assign a channel field.

    4. Click the Register button.


      Do NOT power off the device for at least one (1) hour after registration to ensure registration is complete.

  6. Once registration and content syncing is complete, you can view and browse the meeting room application on the device.
